IrfanView is a very fast, small, compact and innovative FREEWARE (for non-commercial use) graphic viewer for Windows 9x, ME, NT, 2000, XP, 2003 , 2008, Vista, Windows 7. It is trying to be simple for beginners and powerful for professionals.
IrfanView is trying to create new and/or interesting features in its own way, unlike some other graphic viewers, whose whole "creativity" is based on feature cloning, stealing of ideas and whole dialogs from ACDSee and/or IrfanView! (for example: XnView has been stealing/cloning features and whole dialogs from IrfanView, for 10+ years).
IrfanView was the first Windows graphic viewer WORLDWIDE with Multiple (animated) GIF support.
One of the first graphic viewers WORLDWIDE with Multipage TIF support.
The first graphic viewer WORLDWIDE with Multiple ICO support.
Program install support: Install and Uninstall
Program language: English , Abkhazian , Afar , Afrikaans , Albanian , Amharic , Arabic , Armenian , Assamese , Aymara , Azerbaijani , Bashkir , Basque , Bengali , Bhutani , Bihari , Bislama , Breton , Bulgarian , Burmese , Byelorussian , Cambodian , Catalan , Chinese , Chi

What's New in IrfanView 4.61
- New capture option: Region capture (Thanks to grebulon)
- (as option in Capture dialog or hotkey: CTRL + PrintKey)
- OCR Feature/PlugIn added (Options menu, Hotkey: F9, full image or selection)
IrfanView reviews:
One of the best apps ever. Works perfectly as ever. The fact that it's freeware as well is a (large) bonus.

Love this program. Been using it for, God, more than a decade now! Wow!
Only complaint I have is that it seems very slow to start up under Windows 7. You double-click an image and it take a few seconds to load up while it was instantaneous under Vista and XP on the same hardware with the same image files.
Can't really complain about that since Win7's not even out yet, but I thought it'd be worth a mention.
Update: this build seems to have fixed that problem! Excellent.
